249.0 VIII-2.00- INTERIM TUITION POLICY OF THE BOARD OF REGENTS FOR FY 1990

(Approved by the Board of Regents, August 30, 1988)

Tuition for FY 1990 is to be based on an increase not to
exceed 8 percent for undergraduate programs, and 10 percent
for graduate and professional school programs. If for any
institution there are special circumstances that warrant, the
President may recommend a larger increase and justify the need
for the larger increase before it is included in the tuition
schedule recommended by the Chancellor to the Board of Regents.
Major fees that are mandatory for all students will be set by the
President and, following review by the Chancellor, recommended to
the Board of Regents. The recommended schedule of tuition and
mandatory fees as set by the Presidents for FY 1990 will be
included in the material for the meeting of the Regents on August
30, 1988, and can be altered after that date only by agreement of
the Regents. Non-mandatory auxiliary enterprise fees and charges
normally will be recommended to the Board of Regents at the June
meeting preceding the start of the academic year.
