Regents' Advancement Committee to Meet at USM Office March 14

The University System of Maryland Board of Regents' Committee on Advancement will meet on Tuesday, March 14 at 9 a.m. in the Chancellor's Conference Room at the USM Office, 3300 Metzerott Road in Adelphi, MD. The public session of the meeting will begin immediately after the Committee meets in executive session.

The Committee will review several agenda items, including:

  • Results of the latest survey by the National Association of College and University Business Officers, which reports that the University of Maryland Foundation had the best market performance of 518 reporting institutions in 1999. USM Vice Chancellor for Advancement John K. Martin will also discuss current totals from the USM's Make a Lasting Impression campaign.

  • A status report on the current legislative session by Frank Komenda, associate vice chancellor for USM State Relations.

  • Legislative relations reports for University of Maryland, University College by Laslo Boyd, director of Government Relations for UMUC; and for Salisbury State University by Karin Johnson, executive assistant to the president at Salisbury.

  • Paul Sweet, associate vice chancellor for USM Federal Relations, will speak on meetings with Maryland's congressional delegation as well as the FY2001 federal budget.
