Board of Regents to Meet September 12

The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet in regular public session on Friday, September 12 at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science's Aquaculture and Restoration Ecology Laboratory in Cambridge, MD. The meeting, to be held in the Interactive Video Network Room of the lab, will begin at 8:30 a.m. The Board will consider several agenda items at the meeting, including: · Election of officers for Fiscal Year 2004 · Proposal to change the name of Coppin State College to Coppin State University · Review of Board of Regents by-laws by USM Chancellor William E. Kirwan, including a proposal to abolish the Board's standing committees on external relations and technology, and to provide a structure for the establishment of issues-oriented workgroups and/or task forces · Update on Regent workgroups by Chairman Clifford M. Kendall · Food services contract for Bowie State University · Disposition of properties at 4218 and 4220 Knox Road in College Park by the University of Maryland, College Park · Conveyance of parcel along the northern edge of the USM's Universities at Shady Grove Center for Montgomery County to construct a merge lane from Traville Gateway Drive onto Darnestown Road · 2001-2011 facilities master plan for University of Maryland University CollegeContact:
