Board's Finance Committee to Consider System's

FY 2006 Capital Budget Request and Ten-Year Capital Plan

Adelphi, MD (June 15, 2004) - The Committee on Finance of the University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will consider approval of the system's $196,950,000 capital budget proposed for FY 2006. The Finance Committee will review the budget at its public meeting scheduled to begin at 9:30 am Thursday, June 17, at Towson University. The meeting will be in Chesapeake Rooms I and II in the University Union.

The FY 2006 capital budget proposal includes a wide range of projects, including equipment for the Biosciences Research Building under construction at the University of Maryland, College Park, and for the Center for Business and Graduate Studies under construction at Bowie State University. It also includes construction and equipment for a new dental school facility at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and for a laboratory addition at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science's Chesapeake Biological Laboratory in Solomons.

In addition, the committee will consider proposals for the system's capital plan for FY 2006-2015 and for the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, 2003-2013 facilities master plan.
