Marianne Horrigan Appointed
Assistant Vice Chancellor for Advancement
ADELPHI, Md. (October 3, 2005) —
- Marianne Horrigan has been appointed
assistant vice chancellor for advancement and strategic initiatives
for the
University System of Maryland (USM). As a senior member of
the system's advancement team, Horrigan leads a set of training
and constituency outreach initiatives, staffs a Chancellor's
advisory group, and provides technical assistance to USM institutions
in an effort to enhance the level and quality of fund-raising
state-wide.
Horrigan joined the USM advancement team in 1998 as assistant director, corporate and foundation relations. She was promoted to director in 2001. As director, she managed a portfolio of corporate and foundation prospects for the system office, and planned and implemented professional development programs for fund raisers system-wide.
Prior to joining the University System of Maryland, Horrigan was a member of the development staff at Loyola College in Maryland from 1992 to 1998. She also worked as a staff writer and editor for Grezenbach Glier and Associates, Inc., a philanthropic management counsel firm in Chicago.
A resident of Columbia, Horrigan has a master's degree from Northwestern University and a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia.
