USM Board of Regents Committees on Finance, Economic Development Meet March 28

Audit Committee Also Scheduled to Meet

Adelphi, Md. (March 26, 2013) -- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Committee on Finance and the Committee on Economic Development and Technology Commercialization will meet on Thursday, March 28.

The Committee on Finance will convene at 10 a.m. to take a public vote on whether to reconvene in executive session. The meeting will take place at Towson University in the University Union, Room 305. The committee is scheduled to convene in public session at 11:15 a.m. That meeting will take place in Chesapeake Room III in the University Union.

During the public session, the committee will vote on whether to approve a report on USM enrollment projections for 2013-22 and campus self-support charges and fees for fiscal year 2014. The committee also will vote on the renewal of a food service contract at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and an increase in funding authorization for the Towson University campus safety and circulation improvements project. The committee will hear information items regarding USM transfer student enrollment patterns and a review of capital improvement projects.

The Committee on Economic Development and Technology Commercialization will convene at noon in University Union Room 305 to take a public vote on whether to reconvene in executive session. A public session of the committee is scheduled for 12:45 p.m. The public meeting will take place in Chesapeake Room III in the University Union.

During the public session, the committee will discuss three reports as information items: crowd funding for technology commercialization; new companies facilitated by USM institutions, July 2012-December 2012; and Towson University entrepreneurial programs and initiatives.

The Board of Regents Committee on Audit is also scheduled to meet (2:30 p.m.) at Towson University in Room 307 of the University Union and vote publicly on reconvening in executive session. The audit committee regularly discusses matters involving contracts and personnel that fall within the proper guidelines of the Maryland Open Meetings Act for holding meetings in closed session.
