186.0 VII-2.00- POLICY ON ANNUAL PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS FOR SENIOR ADMINISTRATORS
OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND SYSTEM
(Approved by the Board of Regents, November 30, 1988)
Recognizing the stressful nature of the positions they
hold, and mindful of their great importance to the operation of
the University System, the Board of Regents encourages the
Chancellor, the Deputy Chancellor and the Vice Chancellors of the
University of Maryland System, as well as the President of each
institution in the University System, the Director of the Center
for Environmental and Estuarine Studies, and the Director of the
Maryland Biotechnology Institute to receive thorough annual
physical examinations.
The University of Maryland System will provide on a
voluntary basis thorough annual physical examinations, under the
auspices and through the facilities of the University of Maryland
at Baltimore, at no professional expense to each of the senior
administrators identified above who elects to receive this
service. Laboratory and other hospital fees will, however, be
met by the individual, generally through his or her health
insurance plan.
