Sydney Comitz

Sydney Comitz is a second year law student at the University of Baltimore School of Law. She recently graduated Cum Laude and as a Helen P. Denit Honors Scholar, in May 2015, from UB's Merrick School of Business with a degree in Business Administration with a specialization in early entry law.

Prior to her appointment, Ms. Comitz served two consecutive years as the University of Baltimore's Student Body President. She served a total of four years in UB's Student Government Association, during which she also held positions as Secretary, Sophomore Senator, and Freshman Representative. While in office she also served on the University System of Maryland Student Council (USMSC), the University of Baltimore Foundation, UB's Governance Steering Council, and the Merrick School of Business Advisory Council, and the University of Baltimore's Presidential Search Committee all while maintaining membership on the Dean's list.

Initiatives of focus under her administration included campus safety, student health, student hunger, access to technology, the celebration of student diversity, and the promotion and funding of student services directly tied to student success and retention. She has received numerous awards for her contributions to the University of Baltimore community in student activities, leadership, student life, and community service.

Over the past four years, Ms. Comitz has held six different on campus jobs all pertaining to student involvement, development, and academic achievement. While enrolled as a student herself, Ms. Comitz was hired by UB to teach first year reading comprehension and college readiness classes, where she first gained experience and developed a passion for mentoring first generation college students. She is currently a member the Women's Bar Association and Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society.
