Community College. Former member of the
Board of Governors of the Maryland State Bar Association; president of the Bar Association
of Frederick County; treasurer of the Frederick County Teachers Association;
and board member of the Maryland State Teachers Association. Member of the National
Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives; National Association
of Counsel for Children; Maryland Trial Lawyers Association; and Maryland State
Bar Association, among many other professional associations. Founder and chair
of the Western Maryland Democratic Caucus, 1999-present, and served on the
Executive Committee of the Maryland Democratic Party for more than 20 years. A
graduate of Frostburg State University (B.A.), The George Washington University
(M.A.), and the University of Baltimore School of Law (J.D.). Member of the Frostburg
State University Board of Visitors, 1981-1991; former president of the Frostburg
State University Alumni Association; and former chair of the Frostburg State University
Foundation. Recipient of the Frostburg State University Alumni Achievement
Award, 1990.
