Founder and principal partner of the Law Offices of Thomas G. Slater, P.C. Former Frederick County Public Schools teacher and adjunct instructor at Frederick Community College.  Former member of the Board of Governors of the Maryland State Bar Association; president of the Bar Association of Frederick County; treasurer of the Frederick County Teachers Association; and board member of the Maryland State Teachers Association. Member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives; National Association of Counsel for Children; Maryland Trial Lawyers Association; and Maryland State Bar Association, among many other professional associations. Founder and chair of the Western Maryland Democratic Caucus, 1999-present, and served on the Executive Committee of the Maryland Democratic Party for more than 20 years. A graduate of Frostburg State University (B.A.), The George Washington University (M.A.), and the University of Baltimore School of Law (J.D.). Member of the Frostburg State University Board of Visitors, 1981-1991; former president of the Frostburg State University Alumni Association; and former chair of the Frostburg State University Foundation. Recipient of the Frostburg State University Alumni Achievement Award, 1990.
