Guest NCAT scholar, Dr. Tristan Denley. The two themes of the workshop are:

1) Why Engage in Course Redesign? A Department Chair's Perspective. By Dr. Denley (open to all)

2) What Redesign Models Works best for Math Courses and What Technology is Available for Math Students? (open to all but focused on math courses)

Agenda

  • 12:30 - 1:10: Lunch and open discussion with Dr. Denley
  • 1:15 - 2:00: Dr. Denley's Presentation
  • 2:00 - 2:45: Hawkes Presentation
  • 2:45 - 3:00: Q & A

Dr. Tristan Denley will provide information on what issues led to course redesign in his department, the data that drove their decisions, and the impact of the redesign on their program. Topics include how departmental resources are used more effectively and how the redesign helped their undergraduate and graduate program grow. Read more about his bio.

Hawkes Learning Systems, a company of math courseware specialists, will provide information about their line of products from developmental math courses through upper level courses.
