1. General tips on persuasive writing ("writing dos and don'ts")
2. Overview of key proposal components (e.g., statement of need, goals and objectives, program plan, evaluation methods, organizational background)
3. Discussion of similarities and differences between proposals for major gifts and planned gifts
4. Interactive exercises
5. Small group critique of a short proposal
6. List of resources for further study

Participants will achieve increased understanding of:

1. How to write persuasively
2. Components to include in a proposal
3. Special characteristics of proposals for major gifts and planned gifts
4. Online and print resources that they can access to learn more about proposal writing
