- General tips on persuasive writing ("writing dos and don'ts")
- Overview of key proposal components (e.g., statement of need, goals and objectives, program plan, evaluation methods, organizational background)
- Discussion of similarities and differences between proposals for major gifts and planned gifts
- Interactive exercises
- Small group critique of a short proposal
- List of resources for further study
Participants will achieve increased understanding of:
- How to write persuasively
- Components to include in a proposal
- Special characteristics of proposals for major gifts and planned gifts
- Online and print resources that they can access to learn more about proposal writing
