Office Clerk ()
The University System of Maryland Office (USMO) invites applications and nominations for the Contingent I (contract - no benefits) position of Office Clerk II. The Office Clerk II is a member of the Advancement staff within the office of the University System of Maryland (USM) located in Adelphi, MD. This position is based on 19 hours per week.
This position reports directly to the Director of Advancement Research and will ensure that the Ellucian Advance database which contains alumni, donor, and prospective donor information is updated with accurate and reliable information on a timely basis for the use of the USM office and those institutions within the USM that rely on Ellucian Advance as their main database source.
The duties and responsibilities are outlined below, but not limited to the following;
- Database data entry – update information on alumni, prospective donors, correct outdates or erroneous information.
- Research – responsible for reading newspapers and periodicals for relevant information and entering the data into database.
- Communications – proofread materials before entering into files; interact with other USM institutions to provide them with information related to their alums/prospects.
- Filing – Maintain central filing system and create new files
The qualified candidate will have the ability to obtain information from large volumes of new sources and reference materials. The position requires attention to details, data entry, filing, basic internet searches, use of Microsoft Office, proofreading, fact finding and verification, excellent communication skills, good judgment in dealing with confidential information, and willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment.
