David Mosca Appointed Director of Internal Audit

ADELPHI, Md. (September 13, 2005) — David Mosca, CPA, has been appointed director of internal audit for the University System of Maryland. Mosca is fully responsible for managing, planning, scheduling, and reporting the internal audit function of the 13-institution university system.

In his position, Mosca leads a team charged with providing the university system with audit engagements designed to enhance operational efficiency, economy, and effectiveness. Comprising certified internal auditors, certified public accountants, and certified information system auditors, the Office of Internal Audit reports directly to the Audit Committee of the USM Board of Regents and, for administrative and routine operating purposes, to the USM Chancellor.

Mosca joined the system office in 2000 as a construction audit specialist. Since then, he has served as an internal audit manager and more recently, as associate director of internal audit.

Before joining the University System of Maryland, Mosca held internal audit positions with The Clark Construction Group, Inc., headquartered in Bethesda; Integrated Health Service, Inc., in Owings Mills; and Lionel Leisure, Inc., in Philadelphia.

A resident of Columbia, Mosca holds a B.S. in accounting and management from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania.
