Board of Regents to Meet April 11
at Towson University
April 11, 2003
The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet in public session on Friday, April 11 on the third floor of the University Union at Towson University, beginning at 9:15 a.m.
The Board will consider several agenda items, including:
- Annual Presentation of Regents Faculty Awards
- Report of grassroots efforts during the legislative session
- Resolution of appreciation for Regent Lance Billingsley, who is leaving the Board
- USM enrollment projections for 2003-2012
- 2001-2011 facilities master plan for Frostburg State University (FSU)
- Public/private partnerships for student housing at Salisbury University and the University of Maryland, College Park
- Increase in funding authorization for the Gossett Football Team House expansion at UMCP
- Dental clinic operations contract at the University of Maryland, Baltimore exceeding $5 million
- Proposed technical clarification of Board of Regents policy on student classification for admission, tuition, and charge-differential purposes
- Changes and proposals for academic programs, including a master of fine arts in integrated design and a master of fine arts in creative writing and publishing arts, both from the University of Baltimore; a master of arts in education and a bachelor of science in psychology (substantially modified), both from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County; a discontinuance of the bachelor's program in human resource management from the R.H. Smith School of Business at UMCP; a bachelor of technical and professional studies in biotechnology from the University of Maryland University College; a bachelor of technical and professional studies in criminal justice from FSU; and new areas of concentration in international studies, business administration, and geography, also from Frostburg

- Annual report on intercollegiate athletics
- Announcement of new Regents Professor
- Briefing on No Child Left Behind legislation
