Maryland's Higher Education Community-in Partnership,

with Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation-

Holds Fall 2006 Listening Tour for Business Leaders

WHAT: Solutions for Maryland's Future:

A Partnership for Workforce Development and Maryland Higher Education -- A Listening Tour

This is a groundbreaking series of events. A coalition including all segments of the higher education community in Maryland-public four-year, independent four-year, community colleges-is inviting business leaders throughout the state to talk candidly about what Maryland higher education is and should be doing to help meet the state's workforce and economic development needs.

WHO: Calvin W. Burnett, Secretary, Maryland Higher Education Commission; James Fielder, Secretary, Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation; William E. Kirwan, Chancellor, University System of Maryland; Tina Bjarekull, President, Maryland Independent College and University Association; Clay Whitlow, Director, Maryland Association of Community Colleges; Jane "Maggie" O'Brian, President, St. Mary's College; Earl Richardson, President, Morgan State University; and other college and university leaders throughout Maryland

The first event in this eight-stop series was held Monday, September 25, at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Following is the schedule for the remaining events.
