USM Regents Committee on Education Policy and Student Life Meets Sept. 4

Adelphi, Md. (Sept. 2, 2014) -- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Committee on Education Policy and Student Life at its next meeting will vote on two proposed master's degree programs at Towson University and revisions to the Board of Regents policy on student social media privacy.

The public meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, on the second floor (Room 218) of the Talon Center at Coppin State University, 2500 W. North Avenue, Baltimore, MD.

The new degree programs at Towson University are a M.A. in interdisciplinary arts infusion and a M.S. in marketing intelligence. The proposed revisions to the policy on student social media privacy reflect an effort to incorporate legitimate academic uses of social media, inside and outside the classroom.

The committee also will hear several information items, including the 2013-14 summary of institutional achievement gap reports and a tentative annual agenda for the new academic year.

Parking is available in Lot G, adjacent to the Talon Center. Driving directions to Coppin State University and a campus map can be accessed here. The full agenda is available here.

Background information will be available at the meeting. Sign language interpreters and/or other appropriate accommodations for eligible individuals with disabilities will be provided upon request. Please call 301.445.2756 (voice) or 301.314.7683 (TTY/ITT) for special arrangements.
