Chancellor Caret Appoints University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science Search and Screening Committee

Adelphi, MD (Dec. 19, 2016) -- Robert L. Caret, chancellor of the University System of Maryland (USM), today announced his appointment of the search and screening committee for the president of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES),  one of the university system's 12 institutions.

UMCES president Donald Boesch announced in September that he will step down on Aug. 31, 2017. UMCES is the premier research and educational institute working to understand and manage our world's natural resources.

The chair of the search committee is Robert D. Rauch, a member of the USM Board of Regents and a principal with the civil engineering and construction management firm, RAUCH inc., of Easton, Md.

The other members of the committee, which includes representatives from UMCES faculty, staff, students, and alumni, and from the greater community, are (alphabetically):

The committee's work will conclude with its recommendation of finalists for consideration by the chancellor and the Board of Regents. The board will make the final selection. For more information about UMCES, visit www.umces.edu.
