USM Board of Regents Special Meeting Concludes, Update to Follow by Close of Business on Friday, August 17
Adelphi, Md. (Aug. 17, 2018) -- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents special meeting that began at 10 a.m. today concluded at 1:55 p.m. The USM Office will issue an update statement regarding the meeting by the close of business today, Friday, August 17.The purpose of the meeting was for the board to receive updates regarding actions taken by the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) in the wake of the death of football player Jordan McNair.
The board at 10:02 a.m. concluded its public vote via conference call to reconvene its meeting in closed session. The closed session followed Open Meetings Act exceptions regarding advice with legal counsel and discussion of personnel matters.
