USM Board of Regents Committees on Governance and Compensation, Finance to Meet on December 12
Baltimore, Md. (Dec. 10, 2019) – Two committees of the University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet on Thursday, December 12. The meetings will take place on the 14th floor of the Saratoga Office Building at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). The building is located at 220 North Arch Street in Baltimore, Md.
The Committee on Governance and Compensation will meet in public session at 8:30 a.m. The committee will discuss the Association of Governing Boards (AGB) implementation plan. The final public item is a vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. The reasons for closing are to maintain confidentiality regarding collective bargaining negotiations and specific employment agreements.
The Committee on Finance will meet at 10:30 a.m. and vote publicly on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss an item exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. The reason for closing is to discuss a university’s fiscal year 2021 proposed operating budget. The committee is scheduled to reconvene in public session at 11 a.m. The committee will vote on several action items. Those items include the facilities master plan for University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science; a public-private partnership for student housing at Bowie State University; the University of Baltimore voluntary separation program; the NextGen Energy Systems Program at the University of Maryland, College Park; and an exterior maintenance project for the Bressler Research Building at UMB.
