USM Board of Regents Committees to Meet Via Conference Call on March 26


Baltimore, Md. (March 24, 2020) – Two committees of the University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet on Thursday, March 26.

The Committee on Finance will meet at 10:30 a.m. Public listener access is available by dialing 1-443-353-0686, with Access Code 426086887. The committee will vote on several action items.


Those items include self-support charges and fees for fiscal year (FY) 2021 and a proposed policy on service contracts. The committee will vote on the replacement of the Devilbiss Hall mechanical system at Salisbury University and building exterior upgrades at the Institute of Human Virology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). The committee will receive presentations on enrollment projections for FY 2021-30 and project construction costs.

The committee will vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. The reasons for closing are to maintain confidentiality of a discussion of bid proposals before board approval and the awarding of a new contract, and to maintain confidentiality of a discussion regarding the investment of public funds.

The Committee on Economic Development and Technology Commercialization meets at 12:30 p.m. Public listener access is available by dialing 1-443-353-0686, with Access Code 426086887. USM Vice Chancellor J. Thomas Sadowski will offer several information updates on behalf of the USM Office of Economic Development. These updates include the USM Momentum Fund, legislative priorities such as the Tech Infrastructure Fund, key partnerships for the USM competitiveness effort, and the Venture Development Report for the final six months of calendar year 2019.
