USM Board of Regents Meets on Friday, November 12
Baltimore, Md. (Nov. 10, 2021) – The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, November 12.The board will convene in Assembly Hall at the Guerrieri Academic Commons, on the campus of Salisbury University.
Seating in the meeting room will allow for social distancing. Attendees must wear masks to comply with the university’s mask mandate. Access to the meeting is also available via livestream at the following link: https://www.usmd.edu/regents/meetings/livestream.
The board will hold an education forum, “MPower Update,” presented by University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) President Darryll Pines and University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) President Bruce Jarrell. They will discuss key milestones in the MPowering the State research partnership between UMCP and UMB.
Members of the public who wish to comment during the public comment period of the meeting are asked to email their comments in advance of the meeting to the following email address: regents@usmd.edu.
Items on the consent agenda include academic programs recently approved by the Committee on Education Policy and Student Life and increases in project authorization at two universities as approved by the Committee on Finance.
The final item of the public session will be a board vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. Exempted items include various personnel matters, acquisition of real property, a proposal to name a building and/or program after an individual, and proposed memberships of two USM presidents.
