USM Board of Regents Committee on Intercollegiate Athletics Meets on Nov. 22
Baltimore, Md. (Nov. 18, 2021) – The Committee on Intercollegiate Athletics and Student-Athlete Health and Welfare, a committee of the University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents, will meet at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 22.Access to the meeting is via the following dial-in information:

The committee meeting is comprised of three information items.
The first item is a discussion of the committee’s organization, charge, ongoing issues, and annual meeting plan.
The second item is a set of mid-year updates from athletic directors. For this meeting, the institutions from which athletic directors will offer reports are the University of Maryland, College Park; Coppin State, and Frostburg State. The discussion will center on issues such as Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) and Alston case implications.
Finally, the committee will hear an information regarding the legislatively required annual report on institution and USM policy changes that impact student-athletes, as part of the Jordan McNair Safe and Fair Play Act.
