USM Board of Regents to Meet June 20 at Salisbury University

Chancellor to Deliver Annual Report to Regents

ADELPHI, Md. (June 16, 2008) - The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will convene on Friday, June 20, 2008, at Salisbury University (SU) in Salisbury, Maryland. The public meeting will begin at 8:00 a.m. in room 226P of the new Teacher Education and Technology Complex (TETC). The board will meet in executive session at approximately 11:15 a.m.

During the meeting, the board will honor outgoing regents Robert Mitchell, Robert Pevenstein, and Richard Scott, who conclude their terms on June 30, 2008. The board will also elect new officers for FY 2009.

Action items before the board include:

In addition to USM Chancellor William E. Kirwan's annual report to the board and reports from the councils of university system presidents, faculty, staff, and students, the board will receive information on SU's SAT-optional admissions pilot program; actions delegated to the chancellor for 2007-2008; and the status of capital improvement projects systemwide.
