142.0 VI-2.00-POLICY ON RECOMMENDATIONS TO CHANGE THE NAME OR STATUS OF AN INSTITUTION
 
 
  (Approved by the Board of Regents on January 11, 1990)
 
 
        Each President may recommend to the Chancellor, for
  consideration, a change in the name or status of the institution,
  including any proposed change in the approved mission or peers of
  the institution.
 
        If approved by the Board of Regents, such recommendation
  shall be forwarded by the Chancellor to the Maryland Higher
  Education Commission and/or the Governor and the General Assembly
