Carnegie Course Redesign Initiative

GOALS

USM Carnegie Course Redesign (2) is the second phase of a four year course redesign effort which aims to accomplish the follow set of simultaneous goals:

To do this, The Carnegie Course Redesign (2) will utilize methodologies that have proven successful throughout the nation under a program from the National Center for Academic Transformation (NCAT).  Full descriptions of the NCAT approach can be found at www.thencat.org

Having completed its first phase course redesign initiative from 2006-2009, this current initiative seeks to expand the number of courses that USM will have redesigned over the next four years.  The initial program proved the effectiveness of many of the NCAT approaches at USM institutions.  The Carnegie Course Redesign initiative will provide funding to assist the institutions to expand the number of faculty and the range of courses that can participate in course redesign.
