Minutes from the Admissions Group at the Fall 2000 ICC Retreat:

The Admissions Group started with going around the table to review the past
year for Admissions at our individual campuses. Items shared were successes
and concerns regarding targets and goals. Discussion included ways to
improve applicant pool and yield for enrolling students.

We discussed the common USM electronic application and suggested ways to
improve formatting for individual schools. Salisbury has been working on a
download feature into their SIS. Others are interested in following up on
that feature.

The group saw no concerns with Board of Regents policies for Admissions.

Liz Murray reviewed Regents Scholarship Award practices. The information
was shared jointly with the Admissions group and Financial Aid group.
Suggestions were given on the selection process.

Other issues discussed were national trends in the use of standardized test
scores in the admissions process.

Future discussion items should include Shady Grove and other 2+2 partnerships.

Louise Shulack
