Prospect Researcher

DUTIES: Prospect Researcher develops reports and profiles on individuals, corporations and foundations, and provides assistance to USM development officers to fund programs for particular institutions within the University System of Maryland (USM).

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, 2-3 years experience in higher education; non-profit Advancement Research experience preferred; familiarity with research library resources, including online research references (Lexis-Nexis, Dialog, Dun&Bradstreet, Factiva); ability to collect and analyze data to write reports on individual, corporation and foundation donors and potential donors; proficiency with Microsoft Office and knowledge of the importance of donor and alumni database; ability to interpret company financial information; advanced prospect tracking computer skills; comprehensive working knowledge of the Internet for information retrieval; advanced knowledge of Prospect Research Tools, including on-line sources; strong communication skills (written and oral); ability to meet deadlines; initiative, persistence, ability to work independently and good judgment in dealing with confidential information.
