VISION 2030: FROM EXCELLENCE TO PREEMINENCE
FOR OUR STUDENTS | FOR MARYLAND
Still, in the coming decade, several trends will test our ability to innovative and deliver an accessible, world-class model of education. And so in 2021, we initiated an expansive and inclusive planning process to reimagine our instruction, our scholarship, and our discovery.
Vision 2030: From Excellence to Preeminence will secure our impact well into the future. Building on a solid foundation of success, the plan establishes five priorities shaping our policies and actions, and serving as benchmarks by which we measure our progress. In fulfilling these priorities, we are moving the University System from excellence to preeminence.
Vision 2030 is more than a plan to sustain what has been. It is a promise to transform what will be.
The University System of Maryland comprises 12 public universities, three regional higher education centers, and more than 200,000 people—students, faculty, and staff—dedicated to pursuing knowledge, advancing discovery, improving lives, and strengthening communities across the state and around the world.
