Copyright and Creative Commons
Wednesday, October 16, 2019 | Location TBA | 10:00 to 12:00
Facilitators: Buddy Muse and Alex Moyer, Montgomery College
Faculty update their courses with new content and activities regularly, including locating materials that are copyrighted. Faculty are also interested in locating appropriate open educational resources (OER), objects that have a license associated with them that tells the adopting faculty member just what rights he or she has when using those materials. In this workshop the complex concept of copyright is defined and described. Creative Commons, a licensing agent that works with copyright, yet is different from it, is also explained. The facilitators will have, or will point participants to, resources that will help, including links to the Montgomery College’s Copyright and Creative Commons libguides on the Library web site, and the Montgomery College policy on copyright.
This event has first registration priority for Maryland Online members. Please email Kathleen at firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire about registration for this event.
