Technology's Role in Higher Ed

On Tuesday, February 24th, Dr. DeRionne P. Pollard and Montgomery College Innovation Works invited viewers to join in this engaging discussion about change and innovation in higher education.

The program was moderated by Chief Innovation Officer of Montgomery County Dan Hoffman. Panelists included Dr. MJ Bishop director of the Center for Academic Innovation, University System of Maryland and Dr. Shelli Fowler senior director of Networked Pedagogies and Professional Development at Virginia Tech University.

Our 3rd annual conference will examine how the most promising digital tools are being implemented in educational settings to increase student learning. The conference brought together a diverse set of voices to discuss the most challenging questions facing the edtech industry today.

The non-profit research organisation Ithaka S+R this month released its highly anticipated report on its work with the institutions in the University System of Maryland, which for the past 18 months have experimented with courseware from Carnegie Mellon University, Coursera and Pearson in face-to-face courses.
