USM Board of Regents Meets on Friday, December 10

Baltimore, Md. (Dec. 8, 2021) – The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, December 10.

The board will convene in the Wiseman Ballrooms of the Student Center on the campus of Bowie State University.

Seating in the meeting room will allow for social distancing. Attendees must wear masks to comply with the Prince George’s County mask mandate. Access to the meeting is also available via livestream at the following link: https://www.usmd.edu/regents/meetings/livestream.

The board will hold an education forum, “USM Economic Impact on the State of Maryland,” presented by the USM’s Venture Development Director Lindsay Ryan.

Members of the public who wish to comment during the public comment period of the meeting are asked to email their comments in advance of the meeting to the following email address: regents@usmd.edu.

Items on the consent agenda include a new degree program (Doctorate of Business Administration) at the University of Maryland, College Park, and the new facilities master plan for Towson University. The board will vote on an amendment of the USM Nonexempt Salary Structure.

The final item of the public session will be a board vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. Exempted items include meetings with certain presidents as part of their performance reviews; updates on presidential search committees for two USM institutions; a housekeeping contract; an update on collective bargaining and negotiations; and consideration of the proposed fiscal year 2023 operating budget submission (and potential adjustments to the submission).
