USM Board of Regents Committee on Education Policy and Student Life and Safety Meets January 16

Baltimore, Md. (Jan. 12, 2024) – The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Committee on Education Policy and Student Life and Safety will hold its next scheduled meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16.

The committee will vote on two proposals at Salisbury University: a degree program (M.A. in public communication) and a transition of the Office of Graduate Studies to a graduate school and separate Office of Research and Sponsored Programs.

Information items before the committee include an update on civic engagement and civic education, including the Langenberg Legacy Fellowship Program, and academic and student affairs updates from the Committee on Intercollegiate Athletics and Student-Athlete Health and Welfare.

The committee will vote on whether to reconvene to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. Those items are Regents’ Faculty Awards recommendations and nominations for honorary degrees.
