Two USM Board of Regents Committees to Meet on January 24

Baltimore, Md. (Jan. 23, 2024) – Two committees of the USM Board of Regents will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 24.

The Committee on Governance and Compensation will meet at 8:30 a.m. Access to the meeting is via the following dial-in information:

The committee will vote on certification of committee charters, followed by a vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. Those items are an update on the status of collective bargaining at USM institutions and matters concerning specific employment agreements of USM and institutional personnel.

The committee will vote on an amendment to the 44th bond resolution for auxiliary facility and tuition revenue bonds, previously adopted in June 2022. The committee also will vote on a modification to the IT professional consulting services master contract between the USM and the Maryland Education Enterprise Consortium.

The committee will hear information items regarding fiscal year (FY) 2023 audited financial statements and USM financial planning, FY 2025 operating budget, FY 2025 capital budget, and a review of capital improvement projects.

The committee will vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. Those items are the awarding of a new contract for dining services, a new contract for energy services, and consideration of the investment of the USM Common Trust Fund.
