Bowie State Search Committee to Hold Open Meeting
The Bowie State University Presidential Search and Screening Committee will hold an open
meeting on Friday, October 8. The meeting will be held on the campus, located at 14000
Jericho Park Road, in the Thurgood Marshall Library auditorium. It will begin at noon and
is expected to end at 2 PM. The committee is expected to schedule at least one other open
meeting.
Friday’s forum will provide an opportunity for faculty, staff, students, and others
to offer their thoughts on the qualities and qualifications that would be desirable in the
university’s next president.
The Search and Screening Committee was appointed by USM Chancellor Donald N. Langenberg.
Walter Jewell Leonard, Elkins Professor of History and Government at Bowie State, is the
chairman. The committee has retained the firm of A.T. Kearney, Inc. to assist in the
national search for the university’s ninth president.
