Education Policy Committee to Meet November 14 at UMBC

The Committee on Education Policy of the University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet in public session on Wednesday, November 14 in Room 767 of the Albin O. Kuhn Library at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in Catonsville. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m.

The Education Policy Committee will consider several agenda items, including:

  • New program proposals, including a bachelor of science in sociology and in political science from Coppin State College; a B.S. in exercise science, a doctorate in organizational leadership, and a doctor of physical therapy degree, all from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore; and an extension of the University of Baltimore's existing master of business administration program to an off-campus site
  • Shared governance plans from Bowie State University, Coppin State College, the University of Baltimore, and the University of Maryland, Baltimore
  • Results of periodic reviews of academic programs at Towson University
  • Report on the workload of the USM faculty
  • Review of summary report of USM responses to the agreement between the State of Maryland and the federal Office of Civil Rights
  • Plan for increasing minority achievement at the USM institutions
