Education Policy Committee to Meet May 16 at UMBI 

The Committee on Education Policy of the University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet in public session on Wednesday, May 16 at 9 a.m. in the sixth floor conference room of the University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute Medical Research Facility, 725 West Lombard St. in Baltimore.

The committee will consider several agenda items, including:
  • Presentation on two collaborative programs from various USM institutions and Morgan State University - one in education sponsored by Bowie State University and the University of Maryland, College Park in conjunction with Morgan, and the other in business, co-sponsored by the University of Baltimore and Morgan

  • USM policy on intellectual property

  • Shared governance accountability plans

  • Institutional reports on the technology fluency of graduates

  • Reports on academic advising at USM institutions

  • Revision of USM policy on the USM Student Council (USMSC) and the USMSC Constitution, pertaining to the process and timeline for the selection of student Regent nominees
