USM Board of Regents to Meet February 8 at UMBC
The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet in regular
public session on Friday, February 8 at 10:30 a.m. on the third floor of The
Commons at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
The Board will consider several agenda items, including:

New program proposals, including a bachelor of urban and regional planning from
Frostburg State University; a bachelor of arts in environmental issues from
Salisbury University; a doctorate in urban and regional planning and design from
the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP); a post-baccalaureate
certificate in museum scholarship and material culture from UMCP; and a
doctorate in clinical audiology from UMCP

Update on the Fiscal Year 2003 operating and capital budgets

Revised USM policy on intellectual property
-
Campus crime reports as required by the U.S. Department of Education
-
Discussion on the USM response to the ongoing teacher shortage
-
Analysis of proposed drug policies for USM faculty and staff
-
Discussion on USM participation in the Eastern Shore Higher Education Center and
other multi-institutional regional centers
-
Resolution regarding the impact of USM facilities design and construction on the
built environment
-
Proposal to construct an atrium in the UMCP Chemistry Teaching Building
-
Proposal to increase funding authorization for the Kim Engineering Building and
South Campus Parking Garage projects at UMCP
-
Request from the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) to enact the third of
five one-year contracts for the System-wide acquisition of scientific supplies
and equipment

Report on the Board's task force studying domestic partners benefits
