Education Policy Committee to Meet January 17 at Towson University

The Committee on Education Policy of the University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet in public session on Thursday, January 17 in Chesapeake Room #1 on the third floor of the University Union at Towson University. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m.

The Education Policy Committee will consider several agenda items, including:

  • New program proposals, including a bachelor of urban and regional planning from Frostburg State University; a bachelor of arts in environmental issues from Salisbury University; a master of science and doctorate in computer engineering from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County; a doctorate in urban and regional planning and design from the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP); a post-baccalaureate certificate in museum scholarship and material culture from UMCP; and a doctorate in clinical audiology from UMCP

  • Revised USM policy on intellectual property

  • Campus crime reports as required by the U.S. Department of Education

  • Discussion on the USM response to the ongoing teacher shortage

  • Analysis of proposed drug policies for USM faculty and staff

  • Discussion on USM participation in the Eastern Shore Higher Education Center and other multi-institutional regional centers
