USM Board of Regents to Meet September 9

Adelphi, Md. (Sept. 6, 2011) -- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents at its next meeting will honor the 2011 recipients of the Board of Regents Staff Awards. The board also will vote on the facilities master plan for the University of Maryland, Baltimore and a change in funding structures for renovations to two buildings at Towson University.

The meeting will begin at 8:30 pm. Friday, September 9 on the second floor (rooms 2100, 2102, 2104) of the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) Inn and Conference Center.

The board also will vote on a proposed policy regarding endowment fund investment objectives. Discussion items include strengthening of the fiscal reporting of USM intercollegiate athletic activities. The regents will hear reports from the councils of university system presidents, faculty, staff and students.
