USM Regents Committees on Education Policy, Effectiveness and Efficiency Meet October 17
Adelphi, Md. (Oct. 15,
2012) -- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Committee
on Education Policy and the Committee on Effectiveness and Efficiency will meet
Wednesday, October 17. The meetings will be held in the Atrium at the Elkins
Building at the USM headquarters, 3300 Metzerott Road, Adelphi, MD.
The Committee on Education Policy will meet in public
session at 9:30 a.m. The committee will vote on one action item, a proposed
M.A. in language, literacy, and culture at the University of Maryland,
Baltimore County. It will also hear several information items, including a
discussion of the committee's work plan for the current academic year and a presentation
of the USM financial aid report for fiscal years 2007 through 2011. The full

The Effectiveness and Efficiency Committee will begin its
public meeting at 12:30 p.m. The committee will hear several information items.
These include reviews of the committee's work plan for the current academic
year and USM economic development activities and opportunities. The committee
also will discuss the proposed establishment of a Center for Academic
Transformation, a center that would be housed at the USM office and encourage
