USM Board of Regents Meeting Scheduled for February 14

Adelphi, Md. (Feb. 12, 2014) -- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents has scheduled a meeting for 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 14 at Coppin State University (CSU).

(In the event of inclement winter weather, the USM will announce updated information regarding a dial-in conference call format for 8:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14 with a phone number for public access.)

The location for the scheduled meeting at CSU is Room 108 of the Physical Education Complex. The board will hear a presentation on cybersecurity from Lawrence  Gordon, the EY Alumni Professor of Managerial Accounting and Information Assurance at the University of Maryland, College Park, and an update on the Coppin State Implementation Plan from CSU President Mortimer Neufville.

Action items before the board include a new Master of Science in Law at the University of Maryland, Baltimore and an increase in funding authorization for campus traffic safety improvements at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Additional information items before the board include a status report from the board's new task force on enabling transformation through technology and innovation. Councils of university system presidents, faculty, staff and students will present reports.  

The final item for the public session is a vote on whether to reconvene in closed session. If that vote is approved, the board in closed session will consider executive function items and items exempted from consideration in open session under the Open Meetings Act.
