USM Board of Regents Committees on Finance, Economic Development Meet Jan. 29

Adelphi, Md. (Jan. 26, 2015) -- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Committee on Finance and the Committee on Economic Development and Technology Commercialization will meet on Thursday, January 29.

The Committee on Finance will meet at 10 a.m. in the Atrium of the Adele H. Stamp Student Union at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP). The committee will consider several action items, including a proposed new business model for University of Maryland University College (UMUC) and ground leases for two real estate projects at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

The committee also will hear a presentation of the Salisbury University facilities master plan and financial information on USM NCAA Division I athletic programs. The full agenda and supporting materials can be accessed here.

The Committee on Economic Development and Technology Commercialization will meet in the same location at 12:20 p.m. The committee will hear a presentation from a featured start-up, N5 Sensors, Inc., a company commercializing high-tech sensors utilizing technology licensed from UMCP. The committee also will hear updates on the Commission on Maryland's Business Climate and the RISE Zone and E-Nnovation Programs. The agenda and supporting materials can be accessed here.
