USM Regents Finance Committee to Hold Capital Budget Workshop May 12

Adelphi, Md. (May 10, 2017) -- The Committee on Finance of the University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will hold its annual capital budget workshop on Friday, May 12 to review and discuss strategic goals and priorities for the system's capital improvement program.

The meeting will be held in the multi-purpose room of the Columbus Center, 701 E. Pratt Street, Baltimore. The board will convene at 8:30 a.m. with a public vote on whether to reconvene in closed session. In closed session, the board would conduct a work session to begin preparation of the initial 2019 capital budget document.

The public session is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. In addition to members of the full Board of Regents, the presidents of the system's 12 institutions will participate. The workshop will help prepare the finance committee for its meeting on June 8, when it will consider capital budget recommendations to present to the full board at the board's June 16 meeting. The capital budget workshop is scheduled to last until 3 p.m. The board will then vote publicly on whether to reconvene in a brief closed session, for further board discussion on the capital budget document and closing remarks.
