USM Board of Regents Committee on Audit Meets December 14

Adelphi, Md. (Dec. 12, 2017) – The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Committee on Audit will meet at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 14. The meeting will take place in the Thurgood Marshall Library (2nd floor) at Bowie State University.

The address is 14000 Jericho Rd., Bowie, MD.

In public session, the committee will discuss several information items. They include the USM fiscal year (FY) 2017 independent audit of USM’s financial statements and the independent auditor’s recommendations to management. The committee also will discuss financial dashboard indicators and completed Office of Legislative Audit activity.

The committee then will vote on whether to reconvene in closed session. In closed session, the committee would consider issues specifically exempted in the Open Meetings Act from the requirement for public consideration.

Those issues include legislative audit matters that are ongoing and, therefore, confidential; a discussion of investigative matters that may lead to criminal prosecution; the calendar year 2017 internal audit plan of activity; and the committee’s separate meeting with the independent auditors and director of internal audit.

The public session agenda and supporting materials for the prospective closed session are available here.
