Three USM Board of Regents Committees to Meet on March 29
Adelphi, Md. (March 27, 2018) – Three committees of the University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet on Thursday, March 29. The meetings will take place on the 14th floor of the Saratoga Office Building at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). The building is located at 220 North Arch Street in Baltimore, Md.
The Committee on Organization and Compensation will meet at 8:30 a.m. in Conference Room 03-117 and discuss several information items, including the five-year presidential review process and board guidelines for presidential searches. The committee will vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items specifically exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. These items include an update on collective bargaining, review of individual employment agreements, and a performance-related matter concerning a USM employee.
The Committee on Finance will meet at 10:30 a.m. and take a public vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items specifically exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. These items involve board consideration of a potential property acquisition and proposed contracts by institutions and the USM Office.
The public session is scheduled to resume at 11 a.m. in the President’s Conference Room. The committee will hear the facilities master plan update for the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), vote on the schedule of room, board, and parking fees, and vote on amendments to certain fiscal and business affairs policies.
The Committee on Economic Development and Technology Commercialization will meet at 12:20 p.m. in the President’s Conference Room and hear a presentation from students with institutional representation at University of Maryland, College Park, UMB, UMBC, Salisbury University, and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The committee also will hear a presentation from TEDCO CEO George Davis and an update on USM Office of Economic Development activities.
