USM Board of Regents to Hold Special Meeting October 26

Baltimore, Md. (Oct. 25, 2018) -- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will hold a special meeting at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 26.

The board will vote publicly at the USM Baltimore headquarters building in the Columbus Center (Multi-Purpose Room), located at 701 E. Pratt Street, Baltimore, Md., on whether to reconvene its meeting in closed session.

The closed session would follow Open Meetings Act exceptions regarding advice from legal counsel, discussion of potential or pending litigation, and discussion of personnel matters.

The board will continue its discussion of the results of the independent commission investigation into the culture of the football program at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP). 

The USM will continue to update the media regarding developments related to the independent commission’s work. No media availabilities are expected before, during or after Friday’s meeting.
