USM Board of Regents Holds 5 p.m. Meeting on Monday, April 6

Baltimore, Md. (April 4, 2020) – The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. on Monday, April 6.

After opening remarks from USM Chancellor Jay A. Perman, the board will vote on a suspension of a provision in the current board bylaws to permit the board to consider at this special meeting an amendment to the bylaws to provide for voting via teleconference at the board’s regular meetings during times of emergency. The board also will vote on an item authorizing the Associate Vice Chancellor for Financial Affairs to approve changes of signatures on bank accounts.

The board will vote on whether to reconvene its meeting via conference call in closed session. The reasons for closing are to engage in a discussion in connection with an employee performance evaluation and to receive an update from staff on the progress of evaluation of the financial impact of COVID-19 and efforts to address the impact.
