USM Board of Regents Meets on Friday, June 19

Baltimore, Md. (June 17, 2020) – The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, June 19. Access to the meeting is via livestream at the following link: https://www.usmd.edu/regents/meetings/livestream.

Due to the COVID-19-related restrictions on gatherings currently in effect, members of the public who wish to comment during the public comment period of the meeting are asked to email their comments in advance of the meeting to the following email address: regents@usmd.edu.

The regents will hear reports from the councils of university system presidents, faculty, staff, and students. Action items include several items that the board’s standing committees have approved since the May 1 meeting of the full board, including a proposed freeze on 2020-21 tuition rates and room, board, and other student fees. Agendas and supporting materials for Board of Regents committee meetings are here.

The board then will vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. These items include meetings with a USM president; real property acquisitions; collective bargaining negotiations; and an administrative matter concerning development of a forecast to estimate the financial impact of COVID-19.
