USM Board of Regents Meets on Friday, April 16

Baltimore, Md. (April 14, 2021) – The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, April 16. Access to the meeting is via livestream at the following link: https://www.usmd.edu/regents/meetings/livestream.

Due to the COVID-19-related restrictions on gatherings currently in effect, members of the public who wish to comment during the public comment period of the meeting are asked to email their comments in advance of the meeting to the following email address: regents@usmd.edu.

The board will recognize the 16 recipients of the 2021 USM Regents’ Faculty Awards.

The board then will hold an education forum, “Student Activism and Building Trust.” After the forum, the board will vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. These items include receiving advice from counsel and discussing cybersecurity and a personnel matter.

At approximately 10 a.m., the board is scheduled to reconvene in public session. Action items include proposed academic programs at several USM institutions, the USM enrollment projections for fiscal years 2022-2031, and vaccine protocols for the fall semester.

The final item of the public session will be a board vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. These items include various personnel matters, a collective bargaining memorandum of understanding, and acquisition of real property.
